We no longer think of WHAT a company is, but WHO it is. People are trying to position your brand by relating to it. Help them by becoming relatable.
Your brand therapist has 15 years experience in brand positioning and creative development, 5 years in product and business development, and a background in psychology. Brand therapy combines these skillsets so you can learn your market through your brand’s as well as your customers’ perspectives.
Born out of taking bird’s eye views of my clients, I discovered a different kind of pipeline. Not a production pipeline or a marketing funnel, but a Brand Pipeline. These 3 P’s, Purpose, Product, and People realign perspective beyond a company’s definition (the golden circle) to address the breathing, day in and day out, of a brand as it interacts with culture and customers, while staying true to who it is. By connecting these kinds of dots, our brand therapy sessions are able to get to the heart of the matter quickly, honestly, and impactfuly.
Your product and the market are always in flux. From conception through maturation, one will always be adjusting to meet the other. That is why the one goal of brand therapy is to continuously listen, learn, and iterate through the brand pipeline to make your product and your consumer market fit.
As the coronavirus has spread, I’ve been working to adjust my current clients and join the ones most aligned with helping during this Pandemic. Below are four examples of work towards this cause.
For the two years, I’ve been the Brand Therapist for GaneshSpace.com, a purpose driven meditation company focused on mindful practices focusing on four pillars: body positivity, LGBTQ+ issues, gender equality, and race. This brand has evolved from a lifestyle brand, to a thought leadership guide, to a savior of studios through digital transformation during COVID, to it’s final realization as a membership-based teacher focused platform to create intersectional activism through mindfulness programs.
Raising $ for The Freelancers’ Fund - I used RealThreads to create masks that read, in small type, “If you can read this, you’re not social distancing.” All profits were set for the Freelancer’s Union Freelancers Fund to support my fellow creatives during this down time
It’s 2032 and the world let the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals go by while we are biting our nails waiting on another US presidential race to conclude. Meanwhile, a fourth coronavirus outbreak is just starting to spread, COVID-32. Resilience is a social media theatre production spanning a world-wide performance tour pre-COVID, and a social media performance, post-COVID. Every Saturday, we host a thought leadership series on Zoom spanning topics including global warming; AI and robotics; data privacy; income, racial, national, and gender inequality; healthcare, data science and more. I serve as the “Time Traveler in Residence” helping to organize speakers, guiding talks, and leading attendees afterwards to 2032 where we use our newfound knowledge to send insights back to our present. This scientifically-backed platform relies on the insight that those who can picture the future, work harder for it.
STN is a gratitude platform. Recognizing the need to connect a grateful world with essential workers personally and directly, SendThanksNow built a network of over 5000 users in 2020 all connected through sharing gratitude. Using the currency of gratitude, Hearts that are each worth just a penny, you are able to send any amount of value with your message that receivers could then use as their own currency of gratitude, paying forward their goodness to others. Anyone in need is able to cash out through PayPay/Venmo, but it was the gestures and stories that made this platform such a magical effort. Sunsetting as the epidemic is ending, there is still room to explore this potential in future efforts.
